Why exam practice matters as much as learning the language

Knowing German and passing a German exam are two related but different things. Many capable speakers underperform in the exam simply because they have never seen the format, do not know how the time is divided, or freeze in the speaking section. The exam is a skill of its own - and like any skill, it improves with practice.

That is exactly why our training treats exam preparation as part of the journey, not a last-minute scramble. The full path from A1 to B2 runs over 10–12 months, across 48 weeks that include dedicated exam preparation. By the time you reach your B2 exam, the format should feel familiar, not frightening.

How mock tests fit into your training

A mock test is a full practice exam taken under real conditions - same sections, same timing, same pressure. Done regularly, mock tests do three powerful things for you:

• They remove the fear of the unknown, because you have already sat the exam several times before the real one.
• They show you and your trainer exactly where you are losing marks, so practice can be targeted instead of general.
• They train your timing, so you never run out of time in a section you could have completed.

Practice papers and exam-style material are available through our online LMS platform, so you can keep practising between live classes at your own pace, with flexible batch timings that fit around your schedule.

You are not practising alone. Our many C1-certified trainers review your mock tests, give you specific feedback, and tell you honestly when you are ready - and when a little more practice would serve you better. Their job is not just to teach German; it is to get you exam-ready and confident.
