Ausbildung is Germany's dual vocational training system. You work at a German company 3 - 4 days a week and attend a vocational school 1 - 2 days a week. From Day 1 you are an employee - not a student. That means a salary, health insurance, and pension from your very first month.
After 3 years you receive a German government-recognised qualification valid across the EU. Two more years of work and you are eligible for Permanent Residency.
