It is the same language

The ÖSD certificate

Austria has its own respected German exam, the ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch). For nursing, certificates from ÖSD, telc and Goethe are widely accepted, so the B2 you earn through recognised exams is valid for the Austrian route. Your certificate is not wasted by choosing Austria.

Important: Vienna asks for C1 for recognition

Here is the honest, important detail. While B2 is the general base, the recognition procedure in Vienna typically requires C1 - a higher level - whereas many other provinces work with B2. So if you are aiming specifically at Vienna, plan for that extra step. Knowing it in advance turns it from a shock into a simple part of the plan.
